How to Register
The practice has an open list and welcomes requests for registration from patients living in the practice area.
You can register by bringing in your NHS medical card or completing Registration forms available from reception. All newly registered adult patients will be invited for a New Patient Health check.
Booking Appointments
The GP surgeries are by an appointment only system. Appointments can be booked up to six weeks in advance for the doctors, nurse practitioner or practice nurses. Each day patient’s telephone and request to see a doctor that day so some appointments are blocked and released on the day. Alternatively you can make your appointment on-line, please register at reception for this service or speak to Jan or Chris Green on the telephone.
Home Visits
If you think you require a home visit please telephone the surgery before 10.30am if possible. However, home visits are ONLY for those who are housebound or too ill to attend the surgery. Please try to come to one of the surgeries if possible..
Out of Hours
When the surgery is closed your telephone call will be answered by a professional answering service and the message passed to a doctor. This may be a doctor from the deputising service which is Frendoc.
Frendoc’s Care Centre is located at General Outpatients Department in Frenchay Hospital Bristol.
Medical Education
The practice teaches medical students and occasionally you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand and may ask to see the doctor or nurse on your own if you prefer to have your consultation in private.
Hearing Loop
A hearing loop is fitted in the reception area to enable people with hearing difficulties to speak confidentially to reception staff.
Flu Vaccinations
Flu vaccination sessions are held on two afternoons in October subject to the supply of vaccine being available. The date and time of sessions will be advertised on the web site and in the surgery from September and will be available for all patients over the age of 65. Patients under the age of 65 that suffer from certain medical conditions may be entitled to a flu vaccination according to the guide lines laid down by the Department of Health.
Private flu vaccinations can be accessed through GP Care (Tel No 0117 956 2100) if patients do not qualify on medical or age grounds.
Disabled Access
There is good wheelchair access to all consultation rooms for the disabled. There are two designated parking spaces near to the surgery entrance and there is a lift to the first floor of the medical centre where the dental surgery, meeting rooms etc are located.
Access to Medical Records
The practice is registered and complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. Requests for access to medical notes by the patient, patients representative or outside agency will be dealt with in accordance with the Act.
Carers Group
|   | The practice has a thriving carers group which is co-ordinated by Angela Stephenson . The practice has employed an assistant for Angela who helps to identify carers. The carers are invited to monthly meetings with interesting speakers. Information packs are given to all those identified which has details of all local services and support groups. Carers who are not able to attend the surgery are visited at home by the Carer’s Assistant for brief health checks and support. The carers are invited to regular outings and an annual Christmas Party is held. Any carer who wishes to be included in the group should telephone Angela on 0117 970 8974. |
Complaints / Suggestions
The Practice administers a complaints procedure policy. If you are unhappy about any aspects of the service or have any suggestions please contact Sue Bailey the Practice Manager who will be happy to look into your concerns.

Choose and Book
Patients are now able to choose the hospital they attend when they are referred to secondary care. The administrative staff may make the appointment if appropriate or forward all details so the patient may make the appointment at their convenience.
